Footballer recovering after collapse
A young Leitrim GAA player is making a welcome recovery in University College Hospital Galway after collapsing during the Roscommon v Leitrim U21 game at the weekend.
Allen Gaels clubman Alan McTague who had “no issues going into the game” collapsed during the match necessitating the use of a defibrillator.
Roscommon Physio Conor McGowan and the Leitrim Physio attended immediately to Alan and work tirelessly in resuscitating him.
Alan was then transported by Air Corp Helicopter to hospital in Galway.
Officials paid tribute to the quick actions of the medical teams from both counties and Leitrim GAA County Board paid tribute to Rathcline GAA Club, Roscommon GAA, the Irish Air Corp and the National Ambulance Service for their care of the Drumshanbo footballer.
