Three dead in RTC’s in past 24 hours
Three people have been killed including a 14 year old boy in neighbouring counties in the past 24 hours.
A woman in her forties and her 14 year old son were killed on Sunday night near Ballaghlea, Ballygar on the Roscommon Galway border when their car hit a tree at approximately 9.45pm.
The woman and her son, who were the only two occupants of the car, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their bodies have been taken to University Hospital Galway for a postmortem examination.
In Sligo a woman has died and a man is in a serious condition following a road traffic collision on Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened on the N16 Sligo to Manorhamilton road near Drumkinsellagh.
The woman in her fifties who was a passenger on a motorcycle that collided with a car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the motorcycle, also in his fifties is described as being in a serious condition in Sligo University Hospital.
The occupants of the car were uninjured.
The road reopened Monday morning following crash scene investigations.
