The Carrick Road in Drumshanbo has reopened Friday morning following a fatal road traffic accident.
A woman in her seventies, died after the accident at Acres, close to the swimming pool on Thursday evening.
The deceased, Betty McManus was reportedly walking with another person at the time of the incident.
The driver of the car, a woman in her fifties and the sole occupant was uninjured.
The road remained closed last evening and overnight for a forensic examination.
Carrick on Shannon Gardai are investigating.
