Weekend cycling news 18/8/14
Last weekend was a busy one for the club.
A number of members took part in the Tarmonbarry sportive taking in the 100k and 50k cycles.
Wind, rain and sun made for a challenging day.
Up north, more members undertook the 160k Tour of Inishowen.
Martin Lannon, John Brennan and Gavin Brennan had even worse weather conditions to contend with but finished in 8 hours.
But pride of place has to go to club member Enda Madden.
Enda left Collooney at 8am on Sunday in the Ultra Time Trial challenge and completed 303k in 11 hours 30mins.
Enda had also to contend with the mixed weather but put in a great performance in this endurance event.
Meanwhile Tuesday and Thursday sees the club spins move to the earlier times of 6.45pm.
