Two local campsites have made the top ten in the recently published list of ‘Ireland’s Best Campsite’.
Lough Key Forest Park and Battlebridge Camping were named in the list in the Irish Independent Reader Travel Awards which were announced over the weekend.
Readers of the newspaper entered their nominations in each category, together with any comments on their picks. Entries were free. The top nominees were tallied and an independent judging panel adjudicated on the readers’ shortlist, choosing the final winners and runners-up.
The number one campsite as voted by readers was Hidden Valley Holiday Park in Co Wicklow.
Lough Key Forest Park campsite will open for the 2023 season on March 10th with bookings now being accepted.
