A father and son have died in an early morning apartment fire in Market Street in Sligo town centre.
The alarm was raised at approximately 5am and emergency services and a number of appliances from Sligo Fire Station attended.
The men, in their 30’s and 60’s were pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies were removed to Sligo University Hospital.
The area remains cordoned off Saturday morning for a forensic investigation.
Gardai do not believe foul play was involved and at this stage are not treating the fire as suspicious.
