A Co. Mayo man in his 20’s has died following the single vehicle collision which occurred on the N4 Boyle – Sligo dual carriageway in the early hours of last Thursday morning.
Alan Sweeney, also known as Alan McBride from Westport was brought to taken Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for treatment but later died as a result of the injuries sustained in the incident.
The accident occurred close to Collooney at around 2am where it’s understood the car went though the verge and left the road.
A number of other people in the car were taken to Sligo Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
