Time to ‘Rock the Clock’ in Boyle
Hot on the heels of the successful Boyle Arts week comes another great three days of entertainment in Boyle with the August weekend ‘Rock the Clock’ festival set to commence tonight.
Organised by Joe Ryan and Barry Simon from Mattimoe’s Bar and Aaron Sharkey from the Moylurg Inn, the entertainment concludes on Sunday night.
Speaking to Boyletoday.com ahead of the event, one of the organisers Joe Ryan said the 5 a side soccer competition scheduled for Saturday is receiving great interest.
“To date we have 8 teams entered including two women’s teams. Entries will be accepted up to 1.30pm on Saturday at the Pleasure Grounds and we would ask as many as possible to enter a team and enjoy the fun”.
“It will also be a great spectacle and members of the public are asked to support the competition on the day” said Joe.
” With the weather looking promising for the weekend, there should be a good crowd on Bridge Street on Saturday night for the 11.30pm fireworks display and we would ask pet owners in Boyle to keep their animals indoors during the show incase they get frightened by the noise”
” Sunday’s Family Fun Day on the Crescent should also be a great day out with free food, face painting, tug o war and lots of entertainment before the duck race and live music later that night” concluded Joe.
