Storm Henry arrives in Roscommon
Three days after the county was hit by Storm Gertrude, Storm Henry is making its hurricane winds felt on county Roscommon and the west/North West in general today.
A status yellow warning is in place for County Roscommon where southwest to west winds will reach mean speeds between 45 and 65 km/h with gusts between 90 and 110 km/h through Monday. Winds will peak during Monday afternoon and evening.
An orange weather alert is in place for County Leitrim with winds of 110kph 130 kph forecast.
455 homes in the Mohill area are without power since 6am.
Met Eireann forecast today will be very windy with strong to gale force southwest winds and severe gusts. It will be stormy in the west and northwest with winds strongest in the late afternoon and evening. Dull at first with rain or drizzle. Brightening up later this morning with sunny spells and showers. Becoming cold with afternoon temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.

Continuing very windy early tonight and stormy near northwest and north coasts. Winds will gradually ease overnight. Scattered showers will continue and will become heavier and more prolonged in the northwest towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 3 or 4 degrees.
