Sligo Science Festival starts Sunday

The Sligo Science Festival will open with the annual Science Fair at the Institute of Technology, Sligo on Sunday 13th November 2016.
This family event provides a wide range of interactive displays and demonstrations that explain science in a fun way.
A number of workshops for children will be hosted in both town and county during the week. Activities will include art classes, nature trails, meditation, and fun explosions!
A lunchtime and evening lecture series will be delivered in a variety of venues around Sligo and county.
A variety of topics will be presented including forensics, cancer research, bird-ringing, plastics in the marine environment, Irish Science Heroes, obesity, and Irish seaweeds.
The week will conclude with a celebration of Science including events such as the Carrowkeel Archaeology Walk and a lecture in King House in Boyle.
