Sligo death now murder inquiry
A man will appear before Donegal District Court this morning in connection with the murder of a young man in Sligo over the weekend.
20 year old Jimmy Loughlin from Kilross, between Ballygawley and Ballintogher was found dead in a house in Connolly Street in Sligo on Saturday.
He died following an alleged assault.
A 31 year old man was brought to Ballymote Garda Station for questioning and will appear in court this morning.
Jimmy Loughlin was well know in the Sligo area where he worked in McDonald’s in Carraroe and also as a DJ.
He was a former pupil of Coola Secondary School and Sligo IT.
Speaking to the Irish Sun newspaper on Sunday Andre Bonnici, a work pal of Jimmy’s from McDonald’s in Sligo town said he was “in shock” at Jimmy’s passing.
He said: “I would like to say that he will be dearly missed by myself in work and around town.
“He was honestly one of the most genuine lads I’ve met, I’m honestly in shock.”
