Passengers travelling to Heuston Station in Dublin from Castlerea and Roscommon early this morning have faced significant delays.
Services had been suspended between Sallins and Newbridge due to a fatality on the line overnight.
Buses will operate between Kildare and Dublin but a spokesperson for irish Rail has said that sourcing an adequate supply of buses is posing a problem.
The rail line re opened shortly after 9am.
