‘Roscommon Airs’ on Saturday night
The rich cultural heritage of County Roscommon will be celebrated on Saturday night in St Joseph’s Hall with a night of Traditional Music, Song and Dance.
Titled “Roscommon Airs” it will feature performances by some of the finest musicians, singers and dancers from around the county.
The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be the legendary Martin Donohoe presenter of Shannonside and Northern Sounds popular radio show ‘The Wind That Blows’.
Donations will be made from the proceeds of the night to The Tommy Simon Fund and Úna Bhán Tourism.
As a sign of the significance of this event the Irish Traditional Music Archive of Ireland will be present to record this historic night.
This concert will be a historic and unique event, the first such official occasion where this rich array of performers will be brought together in one place and for one night only.
Performers include a mix of the counties internationally recognised musicians Cathy Jordan of Dervis fame, Alan Kelly and John Carty, as well as national treasures such as Paddy Ryan, John Wynne, Patsy Hanly, Tommy Guihan, John Carlos, Francis Gaffney, The Moylurg Ceili Band, The South Roscommon Singers and many more
