Roscommon County Council has issued the following statement in relation to the current weather crisis:
All National and Regional Roads in Co. Roscommon are now clear with the exception of the Athleague to Curraghboy Road and work is continuing on this road at present to make it safe.
It should be noted however that commuters should still take particular care on all roads in Mid and South Roscommon as this part of the county experienced heavy snowfall over the past 24 hours.
All National and Regional roads will be gritted as per the Winter Maintenance plan.
The local Civil Defence continue to provide assistance to the HSE in ferrying patients to hospitals and employees where required.
The Civic Amenity Sites will remain closed over the weekend but all Branch libraries will be open Saturday as per normal opening hours.
