Work commenced this morning on the resurfacing of the N61 road at Greatmeadow in Boyle.
Following pipe laying and other works, the road has been in a deplorable condition for many months now.
Motorist and civic leaders have complained of the effect of the uneven and pot holed surface but that is now thankfully at an end.
Resurfacing should be completed by the end of the week with a topping similar to that recently layed on the Carrick Road.
