‘Pride of Place’ awards on Saturday night
Boyle will be among a number of select towns nationwide who will find out on Saturday night if it is a recipient of a coveted ‘Pride of Place’ award.
The awards will be presented at a Gala Dinner and Ceremony, hosted by Kilkenny County Council, in Lyrath Estate Hotel.
Last August the Pride of Place judges visited Boyle and were shown what makes Boyle such a special place in which to live and work, by the local Pride of Place committee.
The committee was established following the nomination of Boyle Town Team by Roscommon County Council for the competition.
No stone was left unturned by the committee to showcase Boyle and it is hoped their efforts will be rewarded this Saturday night.
Boyle will battle it out in Category 4.
Pride of Place is a prestigious all-island competition and recognises the vast wealth of community contribution to the local society and the creation of civic pride.
