A presentation to the public of the upcoming commission sculpture in the Pleasure Grounds will take place in King House on Thursday August 25th from 5.30pm to 6.30pm.
On the evening, you can meet with sculptor Martin Heron who will give an overview on his work and his upcoming commission sculpture that will be installed in the Pleasure Grounds.
Funding for the sculpture has been provided to Roscommon Co Co/Boyle Town Team under the Destination Towns Scheme and it follows an invitation for submissions from artists for sculptural artworks as part of a Sculpture Trail.
This element of the scheme aims to provide a platform for artists to respond creatively to public space, to the history, story and community of Boyle, in particular the Cultural Quarter of Boyle, the location of King House and the Pleasure Grounds.
