Power outages after Storm Hector

Boyle felt the full force of Storm Hector early on Thursday morning.

The winds increased after midnight and eased again around 5am.

Gusts of over 100kph were recorded locally with many areas losing power.

In Boyle town, electricity supply was interupted for a period while 151 customers in the Boyle/Knockvicar area had their power restored around 6.15am after service was lost at 2.35am.

Early morning motorists are being advised of fallen tress and debris on roads and to drive with caution.

Met Eireann say the winds will continue to ease throughout the morning but that a weather warning remains in place until 10am
