Pedestrian access is currently closed on the Boyle canal.
According to a notice published by Waterways Ireland there is currently a temporary closure of the canal walkway from 23rd September until 25th October 2019.
“Waterways Ireland wishes to advise that access from water and by land to the Boyle Canal walkways will be restricted due to works taking place on the Boyle to Lough Key cycle trail”.
“Access to Boyle Harbour for mooring is possible during this time”.
“Waterways Ireland wishes to apologise for any inconvenience that these works may cause for our customers”.
The cycle path works are continuing apace at various locations along the route from Lough Key Forest Park into Boyle via the Drum, Woodenbridge and Sligo Roads.
