A workshop with Archaeologist John Tierney will take place on Thursday 14th June in Elphin Day Care Centre.
The workshop titled ‘Our Townland: Our History’ is aimed at those interested in collecting information on the townlands where they come from.
John will teach people how to identify, number and photograph historic farmsteads, and attach genealogical datasets to each place, while keeping track of all records produced.
Older residents of the community will be present to inform participants about the townlands where they come from.
This event is sponsored by the Heritage Council, celebrating European Year of Cultural Heritage.
It takes place in Elphin Day Care Centre commencing at 2pm.
