OPEN WEEK – Our Open Week concluded with a very well supported Social 9 hole Scramble followed by barbecue, presentation of prizes and music in the clubhouse. Captains Mark Whelan and Aisling Gaughran thanked all those who played, and all generous sponsors as well as paying tribute to the great work done by Greenkeeper Charlie Beirne and the hard work of the Open Week committee,chaired by Lorcan Egan. Amongst the prize winners speeches the most notable moment was when Tish Perry paid tribute to Liz Dwyer who had passed away since our last Open Week was held.
FIXTURES – The men play for the Lady Capgains prize to the men on 13th/14th of July and the Lady Captains Day itself is the following Sunday, the 21st. Aisling Gaughran is this years Lady Captain. The Lady Captains Prize will be competed for as an 18 Hole Stroke, with dinner and presentation later in the Clubhouse.
The men play in the PGA Tankard competition on the 27th/28th and the men’s Thursday competition continues as a 12 hole.
