There are to be no changes to the Boyle Electoral Area for the 2019 Local Elections.
That’s according to the Local Electoral Area Boundary Committee report which recommends that the status quo remains for the current configuration of the three local electoral areas of Boyle, Roscommon and Athlone.
In making their decision the committee said that the present representation of 6 councillors for the Boyle Electoral area should remain.
Currently the six councillors are Valerie Byrne (Elphin), Joe Murphy (Strokestown), Michael Mulligan (Ballaghaderren), Liam Callaghan (Castlerea), Nigel Dineen (Castlerea), Paschal Fitzmaurice (Castlerea), Rachel Doherty (Cootehall, Boyle) and John Cummins (Boyle).
