Approval has been granted for the N5 project between Scramogue & Ballaghaderreen.
Roscommon County Council has now been granted approval to submit the scheme to An Bord Pleanála for planning approval and CPO confirmation. This scheme will replace a 35km section of the N5.
Acording to Minister Denis Naughten, “This will be a major boost to County Roscommon & the West of Ireland. It will make the region far more attractive for both inward investment and for existing businesses in the region.”
“This has been a priority for me since my appointment as Minister. I am delighted with the assistance on this issue from Minister Shane Ross to be able to secure this vital investment for County Roscommon.”
“The decision to approve the project and submit it to An Bord Pleanála also means that the funding is now in place for this section of the N5.”
