N4 upgrade get go ahead
Good news today for those who travel between Boyle and Sligo with An Bord Pleanala giving approval for the N4 Collooney to Castlebaldwin Scheme to go ahead.
This scheme will provide a new 14km Type 2 Dual-carriageway road with associated works between Collooney and Castlebaldwin.
It will link up with the upgraded single carriageway from Carrick to Castlebaldwin and the dual carriageway from Colloney to Sligo.
When finalised Boyle to Sligo travel time is estimated at 20 – 25 minutes.
The €100m development is subject to funding been provided.
Sligo County Council Road design team will now engage with the NRA to begin planning for the detailed design, land acquisition and subsequent construction.
