The new N4 between Boyle and Sligo is due to reopen this morning following an overnight collision at the Ballymote junction.
It is understood the collision involved a truck and cattle.
There were no injuries reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, Gardai are requesting motorists to drive with caution this morning following a night of heavy rain.
There is a large amount of surface water on roads with flooding in places.
Met Eireann say it will turn drier and brighter from the northwest through the morning and early afternoon with just a few showers.
