Roscommon native Kieran Mulvey has been appointed Chairperson of the newly-established Sport Ireland.
The new State agency with responsibility for sport arises from the merger of the Irish Sports Council and the National Sports Campus Development Authority, and came into operation last week.
Ministers Paschal Donohue and Michael Ring have announced that Kieran Mulvey, Chief Executive of the Labour Relations Commission since 1991 and former General Secretary of the ASTI, has been appointed Chair of the new agency.
