Meeting to take place with HSE
A meeting is scheduled to take place in Roscommon town on Friday afternoon between HSE representatives and Oireachtas and HSE West members.
The meeting is due to discuss the feared closure of several mental health facilities in the county.
The HSE’s chief officer for community health in the west, Tony Canavan will attend the meeting in the hope that some clarity may be obtained as to the future of the facilities.
Castlerea GP Greg Kelly has spoken publicly on the issue saying that closing Boyle, Ballaghaderren or Strokestown would cause hardship for patients who may refuse to travel to a new centre.
