A multi-million euro retail development has been given the green light in Monksland on the outskirts of Athlone.
Roscommon County Council has granted Donie Kenny conditional permission for a district centre containing a discount food store at the junction of the Old and New Tuam Roads.
The project will also include a two storey mixed use building made up of four small shops, a fast food restaurant and office space along with a separate one storey building containing two dental consultancy suites and therapy rooms.
Mr Kenny runs Donal Kenny Auto Parts & Tyres in Golden Island, Athlone.
