BAF 2024 will run from July 18th to 27th and some of the names to watch out for in the live music genre include Paul Brady, Stockton’s Wing, Rebecca Storm, Eddi Reader and the Alan Kelly gang, Regina Nathan, Brídín, Mack Fleetwood, James Nelson and The Men Who Knew Too Much. There will be live shows from local artists The Sessions, Dave Byrne and The Regulars, along with ‘Songs About Love’, a concert featuring some of the best young local musical talent by Music Generation Roscommon.

St. Joseph’s Hall has once again been transformed into a music venue with a full bar and it will play host to four live concerts during BAF 2024. On July 19th Mack Fleetwood, Europe’s finest tribute band to the legendary Fleetwood Mac will take to the stage for a night of classic hits that will bring you on a magical musical journey from the Peter Green blues era, to the multi-platinum selling band that still tours today.

Icons, trailblazers, and legends of Irish music Stockton’s Wing will bring their unique style of music, their story and their enthralling live show to the Boyle Arts Festival on Sat 20th July.

An evening with Paul Brady is a captivating experience, as he invites audiences into his world of songs and music in a way that will surprise in its intimacy, sense of fun and raw power. Songs such as ‘The Island’, ‘Crazy Dreams’, ‘Nothing But The Same Old Story’, ‘Nobody Knows’, ‘Follow On’, ‘The Long Goodbye’, ‘The Homes of Donegal’ and ‘Paradise Is Here’ have, over the years, given joy and emotional sustenance to generations of Irish at home and abroad. Paul will play in St. Joseph’s Hall on Friday July 26th.

Closing BAF 2024 on July 27th is Scotland’s internationally acclaimed songstress, Eddi Reader, of Fairground Attraction teaming up with Ireland’s own piano accordion maestro, Alan Kelly and his gang of acclaimed musicians featuring Steph Geremia on flute and vocals, John Douglas and Shane McGowan on guitars with Jim Higgins on percussion.

Brimming with powerful instrumentals, alluring songs and buoyant harmonies this is a wonderful union of Scottish and Irish traditions.

Mixing the Alan Kelly Gang’s innovative perspective to the Celtic repertoire with Eddi Reader’s thrilling and affecting performance, this show has been praised for leaving audiences spellbound.

The Men Who Knew Too Much will be back in Dodd’s Crescent Bar on July 21st to play their superb mix of jazz, country- blues, western swing and folk while local band The Sessions, featuring Enda Regan, Adam Daly and Kevin Healy will kick off the live music programme with a free gig in The Patrick’s Well, on the opening night of Boyle Arts Festival on July 18th for an electrifying mix of original songs and 90s/00s indie crowd pleasers.

There will be free music performances from the Sligo concert Band and the Dukes of Uke during the Festival, while another local band The Regulars, featuring Christian Martin, Sean Garavan, Shane Casey and Lorcan Connolly will play a free afternoon gig in the Royal Courtyard on July 20th. Playing a fast and intricate style of rock, they have been compared to older Irish rock artists such as The Undertones, Stiff Little Fingers, The Strokes and The Smiths.

We are delighted to have Dave Byrne back after a five year hiatus from the music scene. Dave will bring his solo acoustic show to Daly’s Lounge on July 22nd, where you can expect an evening of rock ‘n’ roll, folk and pop classics from the 1950’s to the 1990s.

Keep an eye out for our flyers, which lists all the events for BAF 2024.
