Gardaí in Boyle are investigating an aggravated burglary at Abbeytown Stores on Thursday evening.
At approximately 8.15pm a lone male wearing a balaclava, gloves and brandishing a knife held up the shop assistant.
He got away with an undisclosed sum of money.
Gardaí are currently studying CCTV footage and are appealing for the assistance of the public.
