Jobs to cease on Friday at MBNA
160 workers at the MBNA plant will finish work Friday 28th following last August’s announcement of wide scale redundancies at the Carrick-on-Shannon operation.
This will leave approximately 200 workers at Avant Card in the same campus that once employed over 1200 people.
Meetings have taken place this week with public representatives, local authority members, IDA, Enterprise Ireland and the Junior Minister Simon Harris to ensure a new employer is found to replace MBNA.
