Grangemore Hospice fundraiser thank you
A huge thank you to everyone that turned out in their droves to support the Coffee Afternoon fundraiser for the Mayo Roscommon Hospice that took place in Fitzpatrick’s Bar, Grangemore, Boyle on Easter Monday last.
It was held in memory of the late Michael Moran of Kilmaryal, Mantua who sadly passed away on 11th January this year. This is such a worthy charity organisation and is very close to the hearts of Michael’s siblings and indeed so many families who have had cause to avail of it’s services. It provides end of life and palliative care as well as bereavement support to patients and their families. The majority of their income comes from voluntary sources so all money raised is vitally needed to fund the fantastic work the Hospice does. To everyone that helped out in any way to bring this event to fruition. To all those in Dawn Ballyhaunis and elsewhere who sold and bought raffle tickets, those who donated money, spot prizes, baked goods and other food and helped out on the day, l thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without all of you, it would never have been the success it turned out to be.
A special thank you to chairperson of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice Mike “Junior” Smith who despite the celebrations in Castlebar the previous evening that went on long into the night, took the time to call in. He gave a heartfelt speech outlining the wonderful work of the Palliative Care team. He also explained to the large crowd there, how their donations are so well spent and are so vital and gratefully received. Fundraisers like this are the lifeblood of the organisation and enable them to do the magnificent work they do.
The raffle winners on the day were:
Marie Hannon,
Roger McHugh,
Colin Drury,
Caroline O’Grady,
Ronan Cunningham,
Frank Dwyer,
Cillian Harrington,

A huge thank you to every single person that contributed to it.
