Gardai have made a number of drug seizures over the weekend.
Cocaine and Cannabis worth approximately €3000 were discovered along with a quantity of cash folowing searches in Ballaghaderreen and Ballinlough.
Gardai from Castlerea and Ballaghaderreen along with the Divisional Drugs Unit and the Garda Dog Unit carried out the searches.
One man was arrested.
Meanwhile, Gardaí investigating the sale and supply of drugs in the Sligo area carried out a search of waste ground in Cranmore, Sligo, assisted by the Garda Dog Unit, on Saturday.
Cocaine with a value of €177,800, Cannabis worth €13,240 and Ecstasy with a value of €5,070 were discovered and seized along with a quantity of ammunition. All seized items are subject to analysis.
A man, aged in his late teens, was arrested in relation to this investigation and detained at Sligo Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
He has since been charged and is due to appear before Sligo District Court this morning, Monday, 23rd November 2020.
Gardaí in Longford have seized €24,000 worth of suspected cannabis plants and cocaine in two separate drugs seizures over the weekend.
On Sunday shortly before 7pm Gardaí attached to the Roscommon Longford Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search of a house in Granard.
During the course of the search, Gardaí located a cannabis grow house in the attic of this property. A large quantity of cannabis plants (pending analysis) worth €20,000 were seized.
One woman in her early 30s was arrested at the scene and detained at Granard Garda Station.
She has since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
In a separate detection, at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 21, Gardaí attached to the Roscommon Longford Divisional Drugs unit carried out a search of a van observed in the Connaught Road area of Longford and discovered a package containing what is believed to be cocaine worth €4,000.
One man in his early 20s was arrested and brought to Longford Garda Station. He has since been released without charge but a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
