Gardai seek assistance after break-ins
Gardai are seeking the assistance of the public following a spate of burglaries in recent days in the west Roscommon area.
Five break ins took place on Wednesday night in the Frenchpark, Tibohine, Cloonfad, Loughglynn and Ballaghaderreen areas while a break in was reported on Thursday night in Ballinagare.
Money, jewellery and laptops were taken in the break ins.
Last month, a number of burglaries took place in the Ballinameen area and Gardai think they may be connected to Wednesday and Thursday nights incidents.
All crimes took place between 7pm and 10pm with entry gained by forcing rear windows of the premises concerned.
Crime Prevention Officer Sergeant Paul McDermott said they had reports from the Ballinameen area of a Donegal registered silver Audi and a black Donegal registered jeep acting suspiciously in the area when the burglaries took place there on January 26th.
Sergeant McDermott appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity or vehicles to their local Garda Station and to remain vigilant at all times.
