There are a large number of St. Patrick’s Day Parades taking place in the general area on Monday March 17th. Below is a list of some of those parades:
12 noon – Sligo
1pm – Carrick-on-Shannon
2.30pm – Ballaghaderreen
3.00 pm – Ballintubber
3.00pm – Leitrim Village
3.30pm – Ballymote
3.30 pm – Boyle
4.30pm – Gurteen
5.00 pm – Elphin
The Grand Marshal for the Boyle Parade will be Corrigeenroe native, former Boyle Celtic player and current Drogheda United star James Bolger.
James will lead the Parade from Applegreen at 3.30pm on Monday March 17th.
Meanwhile, on Friday morning the Boyle Parade Committee announced that they had reached their fundraising goal: “We are absolutely delighted to share that we’ve reached our fundraising goal for the Boyle St. Patrick’s Day Parade! A huge THANK YOU to every business, organisation, club, and individual who contributed – your generosity is what makes the parade possible. We know times are tough for so many, which makes every single donation even more appreciated. Every cent counts, and this just goes to show that when a community comes together, amazing things happen. Thanks to you, we’re all set to make this St. Patrick’s Day one to remember”!!
