Hollywood star and Boyle native Chris O’Dowd is to receive the Freedom of Roscommon later this evening.
The award is to recognise his achievements in film and TV and what has been described as his “outstanding contribution to enhancing Roscommon’s standing at home and abroad”.
Chris, who is currently enjoying a holiday in Boyle with his wife Dawn O’Porter joins others like singer Brendan Shine and the late Dermot Earley to receive Roscommon’s highest civic honour.
The proceedings get under way at 7pm in King House.
