Úna Bhán Tourism celebrates the award winning Boyle Farmers Market’s 11th Anniversary on June 18th between 10am and 2pm
The day will include family friendly FREE events, including a full program of Food Demonstrations and Children’s Activities’ launching the markets new name ‘The Courtyard Market’ in the Grounds of King House, Boyle.
A programme of demonstrations, talks and food tasting’s by local artisan food producers will be available to include:
11am Jenny Toal from Carlinn Cottage will plant and give tips on planting a successful herb garden
11.30am Rainer Geirmann of the Irish Tea Company will provide advice on Bee Keeping and honey collection
12noon Adrian from Good & Green Organics will host a demonstration and advice for healthy and nutritious smoothies
12.30pm Doris Rebe, a Nutritional Therapist and Dietary Coach hosts a cookery demonstration with an emphasis on gluten and sugar free cooking.
Slimmers World will also be there for helpful tips and advice for healthy eating.
Our stallholders will have special offers available and free tastings of their delicious produce. There will also be a complimentary delicious BBQ (available for all our customers who spend over €5 in the market) with a variety of salads made using produce from the market.
There is additional fun for the children stating at 11am with a Teddy Bears Picnic (we encourage little ones to bring their favourite teddy) with storytelling, bun decorating, face painting and hair braiding, adorable animals from Glendeer Pet Farm, Bríd Tiernan from Pollnamaughill Organic eggs will bring along some hens and pet lamb; Lough Gara stables who will have beautiful ponies on-site for petting.
Live music throughout the day provided by Harpist Andy, followed by talented local musicians Marc Egan and Tom McGlynn.
To celebrate national bike week, a Gourmet Cycle Tour with David Gunning of trailcycling.ie will take place. The tour will leave the Grounds of King House at 1pm and continue on a loop through Lough Key Forest Park, returning at approx 2pm where a picnic made using Farmers Market produce will be available for all cyclists (cost €10 pp to include picnic and guide – places limited and pre-booking essential on 071 9663033).

In addition to all the exciting FREE events on 18th June, we are delighted to have all the way from Australia, the award winning Children’s author of ‘Hank and the Wrestling Shark’ and musician GERRY PAUL aka MR. SPLASH from RTÉ Junior. Mr Splash will be performing a fun storytelling and music workshop event (children 3yrs to 9yrs) in King House at 1.30pm, tickets €5 per child (Adults Free) available from Úna Bhán Tourism (071 966 3033).
