The N5 between Frenchpark and Ballaghaderreen reopened early Friday morning following a fatal accident on Thursday evening.
A 70 year old pedestrian was killed at 5.45pm when he was involved in a collision with a car at approximately one kilometer from the village.
The man has been named as Mickey O’Gara Portahard, Frenchpark, a farmer from close to where the accident occurred in Sheepwalk.
The male driver of the car was uninjured.
The road reopened following the completion of investigations by the Garda Forensic Collision team.
