€9,000 funding for four local festivals
Four Roscommon festivals have been awarded funding of €9,000 by Fáilte Ireland.
The funding was announced by Minister of State for Tourism Patrick O’Donovan.
Welcoming the news local Senator Frank Feighan said:
“As part of this investment, the Boyle Arts Festival receives €3,000; the O’Carolan Harp & Traditional Music Festival €2,500; the Percy French International Festival €2,000 while the Lough Ree International Angling Festival will benefit from €1,500.”
“Local events and festivals attract many people into the area and entice both locals and visitors to spend. That can mean only good news for rural economies.”
“These events are also good from a social perspective too, providing plenty of fun and entertainment for local communities.”
