Curlew Walkers Open Weekend
This weekend is the Curlew Walkers open weekend with everyone invited to come along and join in on both Saturday and Sunday.
Please meet on the Crescent, Boyle on both days at 10am.
Saturday walks programme
Level C. Castlebaldwin to Ballinafad, route will follow the historical trail over the Bricklieve Mts, length 12km with 200m climb, time 3 to 4 hours.
Level A. Castlebaldwin to Boyle, route will follow the historical trail over the Bricklieve and Curlew Mountain, length 18km with 400m climb. Water proof boots needed for the Curlews, time 6 hours approx.
Sunday walks programme
Level C. Arigna Mining Experience to Keadue: This route will follow a steady climb up the slopes of Kilronan Mountain, yielding a fine view of Lough Allen. The route takes us past the Mining Experience and continues towards the top of Kilronan Mountain, then sweeping downwards into Keadue. Length 7 km with 200 m climb, 3 to 3.5 hours.
Level A. Arigna Mining Experience to Lough Key: This route will follow a steady climb up the slopes of Kilronan Mountain, yielding a fine view of Lough Allen. The route takes us past the Mining Experience and continues towards the top of Kilronan Mountain, then sweeping downwards into Keadue. The route will then follow the historical trail past Lough Meelagh on to the Bogside Inn and then on to Crossna. From Crossna we continue on the historical trail to Lough Key. Length 20km with 260 m climb, time 6 hours approx.

For reasons of safety and personal comfort, all members and guests walking with the club must have the following basic items of equipment: Strong waterproof boots, Waterproof clothing and a walking stick, Woollen hat and gloves, Adequate food and liquids, A whistle and a rucksack for all items.
