Numerous events for Cruinniu na nOg in Boyle

A number of events are scheduled to take place in Boyle on Saturday June 15th to celebrate Cruinniu na nOg:

Museum of Believing Storytelling Installation is an interactive installation for families, exploring and cultural objects and will be held in King House from 12noon – 3pm. As a society, we hold all kinds of beliefs about every day and special objects around us, from lucky horseshoes to Native American dreamcatchers to fairy doors. Explore some of these objects like a real archaeologist or exercise your creativity to imagine what their stories might be. Nestled amongst the intriguing and enchanting exhibitions of King House, imaginations will run riot. This installation is part of the development for an interactive theatre show that is planned to tour rural schools in 2025. No Booking Required. Age Range: 5-10yrs Siblings Welcome

Also from 12 noon – 3pm in the grounds of King House, all are welcome to ‘Masked Expressions: Mask Decorating Workshop’. Come and decorate a mask with us. Make it scary, make it funny, make it pretty. It’s up to you. So come and join us for Cruinniú na nÓg at the Grounds of King House Boyle and see what you can do. All materials will be provided so just bring your imagination. The workshop will run for 3 hours from 12pm-3pm so just drop by when you want to. Main Artist: Martin Cahill, Assistant: Molly Mew. No Booking Required. Open to all ages.

In Boyle Library on Saturday from 12 noon – 1pm, Helen McSharry will be reading from her new book, The Return of The Tuatha Dé Danann, which is inspired by our Celtic Mythology, The Fae, and spiritual truths – helping our children realise their potential, have fun, and tune back into the therapeutic benefits of Nature. This event is suitable for those aged 5-8 years old.

Cruinniú na nÓg is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth Plan to enable the creative potential of children and young people.
