A number of Garda cars were involved in a high speed pursuit on Monday evening on the N4 outside Boyle.
At approximately 7.30pm a car belonging to a 70 year old man was allegedly highjacked by a man and a woman in Wine Street Car Park in Sligo.
The car made it’s way along the N4 past Boyle and was pursued by a number of Garda patrol cars including one from Boyle.
In Carrick on Shannon, the car allegedly went the wrong way up a one way street and through the town before coming to a stop near Kiltoghert.
Gardai arrested a man and a woman at the scene.
Both are understood to have Dublin addresses.
They were brought to Ballymote Garda Station and appeared at Ballina District Court on Tuesday.
