The N61 Boyle to Tulsk road is scheduled to close to traffic later this week for a period of 16 weeks.
The closure will come into effect from Gannon’s Corner in Boyle to the junction with the N5 in Tulsk village.
Roscommon County Council say the reason for the closure is to facilitate road resurfacing on the N61 from Shankhill to Runnaboll.
Diversions will be in place via the R361 in Frenchpark to the N5 to Tulsk.
Motorists travelling from Boyle to Roscommon and vice versa are advised to allow extra time on their journey
