Boyle Summer Show cancelled for 2021
The Boyle Summer Show committee are disappointed to announce that the Annual Show will not go ahead this year owing to the pandemic.
This decision was made on the advice of the Irish Shows Association (ISA) that shows should not run in 2021 until such time as the Government deems it safe to do so. The ISA said that clarification and advice from the Government has not been forthcoming, due to the ever-changing nature of the crisis. The decision to advise shows not to proceed in 2021 was made by the ISA following consultation with member shows, including Boyle Summer Show.
The Boyle Summer Show committee considers it has no option but to go along with the advice of the ISA given that we are unable to start planning the 2021 show amid the current restrictions, and the uncertainty and unpredictability of the situation in the coming months.
The committee are acutely aware of the importance of the show to the cultural, social and economic life of Boyle and the surrounding areas, and we acknowledge the disappointment this decision will bring.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors, exhibitors, service providers and volunteers for their fantastic support in the past, and we hope this will continue when we get our show up and running again in 2022.
In the meantime, as the lockdown restrictions are eased, we would urge everyone to make a special effort to support local jobs and businesses.
