Well know Boyle man Mike (Junior) Smith is pictured welcoming President of the United States Joe Biden to the Mayo Roscommon Hospice in Castlebar today (Friday).
Mike is Chairman of the Mayo Roscommon Hospice and President Biden paid a private visit to the organisation today in memory of his son Beau who died of brain cancer in 2015.
The Hospice holds a special place in President Biden’s heart.
In 2017, he travelled to the Mayo capital to turn the sod on the site for the new hospice complex, which he described as a deeply moving experience.
