Boyle based Garda Inspector Tom Colsh was among 7000 athletes who took part in the World Masters Rowing Championships on Lake Bled in Slovenia recently.
Tom (pictured centre) who is from Ballymote, represented Sligo Rowing Club and Ireland in his age category.
He took part with Irish rowing champion Caimin Moloney in the coxless pairs finishing a credible 5th overall.
Tom then moved to the single scull event and also finished 5th in this discipline.
A member of Sligo Rowing Club, Tom is heavily involved in coaching in the sport.
