AGMS – The Men’s AGM was held on Sunday 10/11/24. There were a few changes made to competition rules for the coming year that members of the Men’s Club will need to familiarise themselves with. The most immediate change is that as of next weekend registering on the BRS system for competitions is now compulsory. The sanctions for not doing so may include being ineligible to win the relevant competition. This has become standard practice in most other clubs already for various reasons not least of which is ensuring that people can obtain playing partners. Other changes will be that we are reintroducing the old requirement of having to have played a certain number of rounds of qualifying golf in a year before being eligible to win a “Major” e.g 3 x 18 holes or 6 x 9 for a Captains Prize. There will be some printed information on the notice board in the clubhouse during the week outlining the full detail of the other competition rule changes.
The Ladies AGM takes place next Sunday the 18th in the clubhouse at 5pm with the Management AGM taking place on 8/12/24.
RESULTS – The recent Fourball Betterball Matchplay Qualifier was won by Niall and Owen O’Donohoe with a great score of 47 points, Noel McKenna and Lee McKillen came 2nd with 45 just edging Frank Casserly and Michael Simon on countback.
The “knockout” rounds will be as follows –
semi final 1: Owen Garvin and David Wynne versus Niall and Owen O’Donohoe, semi final 2: Noel McKenna and Lee McKillen versus Michael Simon and Frank Casserly.
