INTERCLUBS – Our Jack O’Sullivan team have now knocked 3 clubs out of the competition with their latest victory happening during the past week over Strandhill Golf Club. Charlie O’Donnell and Jason Beirne had a comprehensive win, beating their opposites 5 holes up with 4 to play. Lochlainn Conboy had to work a bit harder for their result, but were one up going down the 18th and held out for the win. With the new structure of the interclub matches this meant that Boyle had won the overall tie and the game involving Brian Furey and Gary Carty was called in. As it happened, Brian and Gary were 2 holes up with 2 to play so it was a very strong performance by the team overall. Boyle play Tubbercurry in the next round in the coming weeks.
Our Cecil Ewing also played well in their 2nd round match and brought their opponents to a “sudden death” play off but it was not Boyle’s day.

FIXTURES – The mens’ Thursday evening competitions continue. Next Sundays mens’ Competition is the Drumderrig Cup.
BOYLE GOLF CLUB FUN RUN – A 5k Fun Run/walk will be taking place at Boyle Golf Club on Sunday, September 8th, at 11am. The unique route will consist of two challenging loops around the rolling parkland of the course with a mix of off-road and path.
€20 per person, €35 per family, with light refreshments afterwards.
