Boyle Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery at 9.30am Tuesday at Strokestown Post Office.
Two masked men entered the premises and got away with an undisclosed sum of money.
A Garda pursuit followed resulting in two men being arrested between Ballymahon and Lanesboro when the alleged robbers car crashed.
Two men in their twenties were arrested at the scene and are being held at Roscommon Garda Station.
