Underage Results

The National Automation U20 Boys had a brilliant win over Strokestown on Friday evening, full time was 2.15 – 1.04.

U20 Football Championship Second and final Round

With a prize of a semi-final berth at stake in the u20 Championship in Division 1, Boyle entertained Strokestown in a keenly contested game on Friday evening in hot conditions.

The first half was a cagey affair where both sides were playing with a bit of caution. Luke Glennon, Odhran Henry and Daniel Casey were working well on Strokestown’s danger Men in particular Shane McGinley for the visitors. Boyle kept chipping away at the scoreboard and were 7 points to 1.02 at half time thanks to . We must commend the referee James Murray (Tulsk) for accommodating a water break in both halves holding player welfare to highest regard.

With Eden Kerins having his hands full with a very active Colin Neary at centre field he still managed to gain clean and broken possession in centre field with Cathal feely contributing on the scoreboard as well with shape and discipline working well for them.

Daire Cregg particularly in the second half picked off scores and widened the margin with David Duggan, Oisin Cregg, Luke McGrath (2) and Gavin O’Connor off the bench firing a goal in after his introduction.

Boyle look now to Padraig Pearses on the 10th of September in their Semi-final where Padraig Pearses have won at this level before at Minor grade. All to do.

Final Score 2.15 to 1.04 at Abbey Park

Thanks to the grounds men organised by Aidan Lavin, Bernie Shannon , the Soles Crew and all volunteers for helping out. Trojan Work going on behind the scenes that we are always grateful to have.
